Kala: Throw

Bright and varied, Kala is made with 1/2 woven brocade saree and 1/2 pure silk printed saree with elaborate colors and prints.   A thick and thin hand-spun merino yarn further locks the design together.  Ends are finished with Mumbai Manos Del Uruguay silk and wool yarn and sides have ruffled edges of saree silk created by the felting process.   

Measures a large 50 x 85" and is backed with soft toned purple merino wool.  

Cosset & Lock Silk and Wool Textiles are made using a unique process of felting to marry together the strength, beauty, and qualities of silk and wool natural fibers. Because I use repurposed sarees, and due to the handmade process, every blanket has unique characteristics and distinctive occurrences.
